Melody Walker & Jacob Groopman

Best known for their award-winning progressive string band Front Country, Melody Walker and Jacob Groopman have been honing their own blend of Bluegrass and Americana for over a decade. Starting out in California and Virginia, respectively, Walker and Groopman have taken their talents to their new home of Nashville, TN where they have found fertile creative ground. Since 2021, they have been pursuing new music outside Front Country: Walker as a songwriter (Molly Tuttle, Sierra Ferrell, Della Mae) and Groopman as a sought-after instrumentalist (The War & Treaty, Becky Buller, Rachel Baiman). Walker co-wrote four songs on Molly Tuttle’s GRAMMY nominated new album, including the title track “Crooked Tree”, and she hosts Writers’ Kitchen, a weekly roots songwriter showcase in East Nashville. Together, Melody and Jacob are seeking out new collaboration through old musical roots, and are willing to travel to find it.
